Pinot Noir has been one of the hallmarks of Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard from the very beginning. Hermann quickly recognized that the Finger Lakes region was well suited to produce this traditional variety both for sparkling and still wine production. In 2008, the dry summer and timely rains in Finger Lakes provided ideal ripening conditions for red wine grapes. The result was a stunning ruby red Pinot with rich black cherry notes. Maturation in oak barrels helped soften the tannins to provide a more delicate approach to the palate.
