  • Field White

    Young-vine Grüner Veltliner sets the foundation for our Field White. Regional staples Riesling and Chardonnay fill its aromatic and fruit profile. With texture, length, and a lithe structure, we think it’s what an everyday Finger Lakes white should be.

    Ripeness was a given in 2016. We organized thirty-four hand picks in our Riesling blocks alone. To underpin that weight, without losing texture, we blended pressed juice from a Chardonnay vin clair (sparkling base wine) picked in 2015.

    Varietal Composition: 45% Gruner Veltliner, 30% Riesling, 25% Chardonnay

    Vinification: Hand-sorted, stainless steel fermentation with indigenous yeasts
  • Chardonnay Reserve 2014 (sold out)

    Our Reserve wines are selected later in harvest, building ripeness and complexity during their extended hang times. The Chardonnay Reserve 2014 was sourced from our Magdalena Vineyard in two picks at the tail end of the Chardonnay harvest in 2014. The result is a full-bodied wine with floral amoras, good palate depth, and a long savory finish.

    The Chardonnay Reserve was fermented in stainless steel. 40% of the final blend was aged for 8 months in large, 500L Hungarian Oak barrel. The remainder was aged in stainless steel.

  • Grüner Veltliner 2016- Sold Out

    Long, mild autumns in the protection of our Josef Vineyard allow for this late-ripening varietal to attain full flavor. Shale-dominated soil on a gently descending slope contributes pronounced minerality and a delicate orchard fruit aroma that broadens on the palate. Underlying citrus acidity hints at the versatility of this wine when pairing.

  • Gewürztraminer 2015 (sold out)

    This wine draws from a 1967 plot in our Josef Vineyard, one of the oldest plantings of vinifera in the region, which produces grapes with exceptional depth and maturity. Much like Riesling, Gewürztraminer is a strain that is ideally placed in the cool climate of the Finger Lakes. Vivid, flowery aromas, accompanied by hints of fruit and spice showcase the distinctive characteristics of the varietal. Limited skin contact during fermentation fully accentuates these traits while producing a lean and focused style. A vigorous play of fruit and spice leads into a long, zesty finish, a perfect accompaniment to earthy or spicy food.

  • Chardonnay 2015 (sold out)

    Chardonnay is a cornerstone varietal at Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard. Hermann first planted these vines in 1978 and produced an estate Chardonnay every year from 1981 onward. Those vines are still in production in our HJW Vineyard, providing mineral and acid backbone.

    Aged in stainless steel, the result is a lean, fruit dense wine with a broad mid-palate and clean finish.

  • Frost Cuvée 2013

    The Frost Cuvee is a smooth, off-dry blend of five white varietals (Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gruner Veltliner) and early pick Pinot Noir. Its light, floral aroma makes way for a zesty citrus and pear body that finishes with a hint of spice.  As elegant as it is approachable, the Frost can accompany you to summer beaches and Thanksgiving feasts with the same welcome ease.
