Our 2014 Dry Riesling was featured in the New York Times T Magazine “Autumnal Wine Pairings, From Momofuku’s Beverage Director.” Jordan Salcito states “this wine, a dry-tasting Riesling, has all the zip and acidity you’d expect from a Riesling, but it also has texture, fruit and length…”. Both Food & Wine and Bon Appetit magazines featured Hermann J. Wiemer in their Thanksgiving issues. Ray Isle from Food & Wine looks at the “The New US Wine Map” and highlights Hermann J. Wiemer as a standout producer from the Finger Lakes. He held a blind tasting that compared our wine with top Riesling producers from well established regions around the world with outstanding results. David Lynch from Bon Appetit presents a Thanksgiving wine game plan that includes a Wiemer Dry Riesling.

The July 2014 issue of Wine Enthusiast Magazine has recently reviewed our 2012 Rieslings. Five Rieslings are rated 90 points or higher.
“Three Perfect Days: Finger Lakes” is the title of the 10 page article written by Rohan Kamicheril for the April 2014 issue of Hemispheres, United Airline’s in-flight magazine. This article highlights the Finger Lakes’ stunning natural beauty and flourishing food and wine scene. We are grateful to be featured on pg. 109 as “Glass Acts”!
In the January 2014 edition of Wine Business Monthly, the editors offered a Varietal Focus on Riesling. They looked at three distinctive regions across the US, New York, Oregon and Washington, and selected three producers from each region. Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard was chosen as one of the NY producers. The winemaker submitted a Riesling and was asked to comment after tasting his or her counterpart’s wine. Click here to read the article. Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard has been invited to represent at Wine Spectator’s Wine Experience Critics’ Choice Grand Tasting in NYC on October 24th and 25th. This is the second time we have been selected as one of the 250 great estates & châteaus from the world’s best winegrowing regions.
All the invited wineries and châteaus were selected by Wine Spectator’s board of editors and have earned the Critics’ Choice Award. This walk-around event is considered one of most respectable and exclusive tastings in the wine tasting world.
We will be pouring the “Hermann J. Wiemer Nobel Select Riesling Josef Vineyard 2010” which is one of our very rare dessert wines and which will be released that day. It received a 92 point rating at the Spectators panel tasting earlier this year.
